Guest post from Grant today.

Thursday, September 8 was a busy day for us - the morning was spent at the Oklahoma City Temple as part of our Stake Temple Day with Gma Gardner acting as gracious baby sitter, then that evening was the Member Night at the Tulsa Zoo. So we packed up Gma and Gpa Gardner and headed off for a few hours of afternoon and evening animal watching. And just like last year: WOW! Such a great experience, which we've detailed below. ;)

After getting there and realizing that they were not doing the elephants as part of the large mammal "behind the scenes", we were a bit bummed.  That was the best part of last year's Member Night.  Then we saw that the Rhinos were the large mammal.  And if anything, it was even cooler!

With the elephants, you could only look and had to maintain your distance.  But with the rhinos, you were even allowed to pet (which Gpa enjoyed mightily!).

Here are the kids up-close with Buzbie, the male.

After we finished with the rhinos, we heard the big cats starting to roar.  We thought we'd missed it, but when we got over there, the big male started the best show I've ever scene at the Tulsa Zoo, and I've been going since I was 10.
